Dr. Kerdel spent time during his training at Harvard University and New York University in various research labs doing bench research. He currently runs the hospital dermatology inpatient service and is the Director of Dermatology at Cedars Hospital. He is also the Director of the dermatology residency training program at the University of Miami. Dr. Kerdel functions as a mentor for the other physicians in addition to seeing patients and performing research in the center. Dr. Kerdel was also instrumental in the formation of the UMCC concept, and in developing the international cosmetic dermatology training program for dermatologists from other countries.
