BOTOX® for Hyperhidrosis : Techniques

Soles

To treat hyperhidrosis of the soles, the dose used is 100 BOTOX® units per palm for a total dose of 200 units. The BOTOX® 100 unit vial is diluted with 5 cc of saline in the vial. (Either saline containing benzoic acid or preservative-free saline can be used). Note that the vials are overfilled, therefore the dilution would differ if you dilute in the syringe. See dilution tables for more information.

Soles of the Foot

This dilution technique, when performed in the vial, yields 2 units per 0.1cc of solution. Using a 1cc tuberculin syringe with a 30-gauge needle, subcutaneously inject 0.1cc with an approximate depth of 3mm with care to avoid intramuscular injections. The injections are scattered approximately every 2 square centimeters. Approximately 35 will be scattered on the sole and the sides of the sole and 15 will be placed in the webs between the toes and on the tips of the toes.
