  BOTOX® for Hyperhidrosis :: Publications

BOTOX® has been approved for use in patients with hyperhidrosis in Canada (2001). Although commonly used, it is not yet approved in the US for this purpose. There are many publications describing the use of BOTOX® in hyperhidrosis and in addition, there are many ongoing clinical trials.

The landmark trial demonstrating the utility of BOTOX® for the treatment of hyperhidrosis can be found in the following reference:

  • Naumann M, Lowe NJ. Botulinum toxin type A in treatment of bilateral primary axillary hyperhidrosis: randomised, parallel group, double blind, placebo controlled trial.BMJ. 2001 Sep 15;323(7313):596-9.

We will update the reference information as more information becomes available.
