Welcome to The University of Miami Cosmetic Centers Information Page for companies that have products and procedures in the anti aging, cosmetic, aesthetic, or dermatologic industries.
The University of Miami is the only University run Cosmetic Center dedicated to the Research, Service and Education in the field of Cosmetic Dermatology. We are leaders in education and research of cosmetic issues.
You can use us as a resource in several ways:
Internal Training: We can train your staff (sales, marketing, research, etc.) on the latest knowledge and techniques for the prevention and treatment of aging or disfigured skin. Members of our staff have been speakers at various launch meetings including the Vaniqa launch meeting for Bristol-Myers-Squibb (3000 people). In addition, we customize training sessions for company employees. These sessions can include lectures, conference calls, online educational seminars, and live patient demonstrations.
External Training: Members of our staff have taught educational sessions around the world for many companies including Johnson and Johnson, Allergan, and Biomedic. We can travel to teach these sessions, or develop them to be taught at the University of Miami. In addition, we can arrange for the course participants to receive CME credits. Hand's - on sessions, live demonstration sessions, and lectures (live, telephone conference calls, or on-line) can all be developed.
Research: Our center specializes in both clinical and basic research evaluating the efficacy and safety of products and procedures used in the field of cosmetic dermatology. Please see the research section for more information.

Publications: Dr. Baumann writes a monthly column entitled "Cosmeceutical Critique" in the leading dermatologic newspaper Skin and Allergy News. This column can be accessed online at eskinandallergynews.com If you have a unique cosmeceutical product and would like to share the information with us, please send it. We are always looking for new column ideas. Please note that we are not interested in receiving marketing information but are interested in scientific findings- both basic science and clinical research. If you do not yet have this research, you may be interested in working with us to develop a scientific trial evaluating your new product or idea. (See research section above)

Cosmetic Product Sales: Please note that we are not interested in being contacted about cosmetic product sales. Any information sent to us to try to entice us to sell your product will be discarded.

FEATURES
Myobloc is the treatment of frown lines, crows' feet, forehead wrinkles, and neck folds by method of Myobloc injection directly into a specific muscle. The muscle becomes temporarily relaxed, thereby stopping the ability of the muscle to contract and allowing the lines to gradually fade. This can help prevent further wrinkling of the skin. This treatment lasts from 3 to 5 months.
