Birthmarks
Blue/black nevus of Ota birthmarks and red birthmarks can be removed using lasers. The cost and number of treatments depends on the size of the birthmark. Treatments are usually 4 weeks apart. The treated area will be blistered and scabbed for 7-10 days after the treatment. The laser technology for these types of lesions is excellent and good results can be expected. The laser is less effective on brown birthmarks. Certain types of brown birthmarks are associated with the development of skin cancer in the future (melanoma). Our cosmetic surgeons can remove these types of moles to reduce your cancer risk and give you the best appearing scar possible.
