Hyperhidrosis :: Myobloc :: How it Works

Myobloc can be injected into the upper portion of the skin to decrease sweating. The medication blocks the release of sweat from the eccrine glands. The results last approximately 4 months. The axillae (underarms), palms and soles are the most commonly treated areas. This treatment has been shown to be safe and effective in reducing sweating in individuals with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in Europe and is currently being studied for this use in the U.S.
