Intense Pulsed light (IPL)
IPL treats broken blood vessels, facial redness and flushing, and dark
patches to give the skin a more even appearance. In addition, it will give a
temporary improvement of fine wrinkles.
Our center is constantly updating our technology to have the latest
equipment. In fact, we help companies test their devices to see if they work. If
you would like to sign up to be on one of our research trials click here.
Currently, we use two different intense pulsed light systems allow treatment
on a wide range of sun-induced changes. Which machine we use depends on your
skin tone, and your skin problems. Not all IPL machines are the same. In fact,
very low power ones are used in salons and spas We use the latest by Lumenis,
Group One Medical and others. Come in for a consultation to see which of these
systems is right for you. Please don't wear sunscreen the day of your visit and
refrain from self tanner 7 days prior to your visit so that we can accurately
assess your skin tone. Treatments take approximately 15 minutes and are repeated
every 4 weeks until the desired result is achieved. In most cases, 3-5
treatments are required. More severe skin problems may require more treatments.
Expect to be slightly pink (like a sunburn) for 2 days after the treatment. IPL
can be combined with Levulan, a photosensitizing agent, to make the treatments
more powerful. In this case, it may take 4 days for the skin redness to resolve.
Cost - $500 per treatment without Levulan
