Raised red scars are keloid scars. These are usually covered by insurance and can be treated by your general dermatologist. Other scars, such as acne scars shown here, can be treated with laser, dermabrasion or peels. If you are going to have surgery, our doctors can teach you some tricks of how to have the best looking scar possible. It is important to see us at least 6 weeks prior to your surgery in order for us to help you.
