Zyderm/Zyplast for Wrinkles :: Techniques :: Glabellar Lines

Before beginning...

  • Review with the patient the indication to be treated.
  • Cleanse the treatment area.
  • Be sure the patient is sitting in an upright position.

  Techniques
Acne Scars
Glabellar Lines
Lips (Vermilion Border)
Nasolabial Folds
Oral Commissures

Steps 1 & 2

1. Before treatment.

2. Inject Zyderm I or Zyderm II Collagen Implant directly into the line at a 10-15 degree angle to the skin's surface. Inject using a serial puncture technique parallel or perpendicular to the line. An immediate blanch and wheal should be observed with proper placement.

Steps 3 & 4

3. A slight massage may be desired to check for any gaps or incosistencies.

4. Continue with the same technique on the other side.

Step 5

5. Optimal correction.

Points to remember:

  • Zyplast Implant is not recommended for treatment of glabellar lines.
  • Overcorrection is not recommended in the glabella.
  • Zyderm I or Zyderm II Collagen Implants may extrude from the skin. This is normal and to be expected. If extrusion occurs, avoid pulling the needle out; rotate needle 1/4 turn and continue injecting.
  • The ADG needle is recommended for accurate depth control when treating glabellar lines.
