Zyderm/Zyplast for Wrinkles :: Techniques :: Nasolabial Folds

Before beginning...

  • Review with the patient the indication to be treated.
  • Cleanse the treatment area.
  • Be sure the patient is sitting in an upright position.

  Techniques
Acne Scars
Glabellar Lines
Lips (Vermilion Border)
Nasolabial Folds
Oral Commissures

Steps 1 & 2

1. Before treatment.

2. Inject Zyplast Collagen Implant into the reticular dermis at a 45 degree angle to the skin's surface. A slightly delayed blanch will be observed with the proper placement. Using a serial puncture techniqued, begin injecting at the lower end of the furrow.

Steps 3 & 4

3. Massage the area promptly using a double sided massage. Continue to massage each area after every 2-5 injections.

4. Continue with the same technique on the other side. Remember, no overcorrection is recommended with Zyplast.

Step 5

5. Optimal correction.

Points to remember:

  • A stretch test may be performed (by pulling the skin taut) on each indication to assess optimal treatment capability. If the line/wrinkle is eliminated when the skin is pulled taut, full correction may be achieved.
  • Correction of 100% is recommended when using Zyplast; do not overcorrect.
  • Overcorrection of 200% is recommended when using Zyderm I Collagen Implant.
  • Overcorrection of 150% is recommended when using Zyderm II Collagen Implant.
  • The ADG needle is recommended for accurate depth control and for maximum results when using the layering technique.
  • Optimal correction of nasolabial lines may require more than 1.0cc of Zyderm and/or Zyplast Collagen Implant.
